Christie Bassil
Christie Bassil was born in Beirut in 1981 and due to the civil war which led her family to flee the country, she spent most of her childhood in the Sultanate of Oman. At the age of 17, after the political situation came to rest, Christie returned to Lebanon to attend the Lebanese American University where she earned a degree in Graphic Design.
Shortly after graduating in 2003 she joins Tarabay Architects, a multidisciplinary design studio based in Beirut & Milan where she later co-founds & directs the visual communication department. The department expanded under her direction and took on diverse high exposure design projects ranging from architecture to corporate image - in Lebanon, Italy, and the Middle East.
In 2005 she was exhibited at the Biennale de Saint Etienne - Paris and her work appeared in several international publications. The half-time Cuckoo clock she designed for Diamantini & Domeniconi, was shown in major design fairs such as Maison e Objet - Paris Salone del Mobile - Milano and sells at major design stores worldwide.
